QBDT 2019 error code -6000 -189

I just downloaded and installed QBDT 2019 and cannot get my .QBB file to open.

I did back up my before departing into new version.

Error codes -6000 -189 are returned when attempting to open .qbw

cannot find anything online or in help here about these codes.

tech support at QB by calling in is an hour wait time.

Used the File Doctor inside the program and it doesn't fix or resolve problem.

Used File Doctor stand-alone and this attempt hasn't worked either.

Tried to restore a recent backup, and that didn't work.

Can't even find my old qb version to use that.

Please someone point me in a direction that I can resolve this, PLEASE.

I have some new resolution steps you can try to help open the company data. To check if there is a problem with the file location, open the company file and save it on the desktop.

Here’s how:

Open the folder that contains your file.
Locate the .QBW file, then right-click on it.
Choose Copy before selecting Desktop.
Right-click anywhere, then choose Paste.
Hold down the control key, then choose No Company Open window.
Click Open or restore an existing company.
Go to the Desktop and locate the company file you saved.

If you get the same result, you’ll have to restore the backup copy to check if the problem is with the current company file. For detailed instructions, follow the steps in this article and go directly to Solution 4.

These steps should get you back to business in no time.
