QuckBooks Desktop Pro 2017 - Error "Subscription has lapsed" when I dont have a subscription!!!???

Let's get rid of this error so you can get back to working order, @GManea2021.

The 2017 version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is no longer supported that's why you're receiving unusual errors like, Subscription has lapsed. To continue using the software, you can access your company file without an internet connection. Please know that accessing the internet while using the software can also cause an error prompt. Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Help menu and select Internet Connection Setup.
  2. Choose I do not have a way to connect to the Internet.
  3. Click Next and select Done.
  4. Close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop.

QuckBooks Desktop Pro 2017 - Error "Subscription has lapsed" when I dont have a subscription!!!???

Hi there, @K_leach,

I wish you didn't have to go through this while using the program. Allow me to share some insights about the error message that you've received, some of the possible reasons that trigger the "QuickBooks Subscription has Lapsed" error are:

  • The QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) subscription has expired.
  • A misconfigured internet browser or a router issue.
  • Outdated credit card information, which makes QuickBooks (QB) unable to renew subscriptions.
  • Installation errors and outdated QB application.

To help get rid of the error, here are five solutions you can perform:

  1. Update your Billing information.
  2. Install QuickBooks updates.
  3. Run the QB Diagnostic Tool from the Tool Hub.
  4. Restore your product and license file.
  5. Check your internet connection settings.
