for no reason at all my Quickbooks will not open. Get message Error C343 and said to try to restart; which did not work, same message.
hi @ eike858 ,
Did you get the error message like C=343 [filename].dll is not an executable file ?
If you did, it might be something wrong with your Windows component. Please try this following solution: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Help-Articles/Repair-Microsoft-MSXML/m-p/201958
Hope it helps.
The information /potential solutions did not work at all. I had QB tech support helping on this issue and they decided I needed to install QB 19, which they could not complete (after 7 hours of trying every trick in the book);
so I did a system restore back to before the problem started and now my QB 12 is running fine.
the mishap probably occurred after a Win 7 update. Tech said I need to update to WIn 10.
Thanks for coming back to the Community, @eike858,
I appreciate you letting us know that you’ve already contacted our Support Team about the error message C343 you've encountered when trying to open QuickBooks 2012.
I'm glad you're able to run the software without any issues this time. Just so you know, QuickBooks follows a specific system requirement for each version. Since QuickBooks 2012 is already an unsupported version, it can be prone to restrictions and compatibility issues with the recent updates on your computer.
If you keep experiencing the same problem, it is best to consult an IT professional to get additional configuration steps.
You can also reach out again to our QuickBooks Technical Team for further assistance. Here's how to contact us:
That should get you connected to one of our live support agents. Please feel free get back to me if you have any more questions with QuickBooks. I'll be around to help you. Have a good one!
hi @eike858 ,
I am not surprised Intuit Tech could not troubleshoot it eventually. We have met many technical issues running QuickBooks (no certain year version) on Win 7 in the last 12 months as well. I believe it is a good time to consider migrating to QuickBooks 2020 and Win 10.
