Join nowI just upgraded to QuickBooks Desktop 2020 from an older version and can't find a feature that I use monthly in the older version. "Invoice for Time and Expenses"
This feature would allow me with just a few steps to bill all of my customers that had time on my weekly Timesheets in QB. It created individual invoices for each customer and included all of the billable time on the timesheets.
Is this feature truly gone?
if not please tell me where I can find it.
I can still create an invoice for a customer and add time to it from the timesheets, but I have to do this manually for each customer and with this method there is no way to know which customers have billable time waiting to be billed.
is there a report for unbilled time?

Hello again, @connectcore.
Let me add additional information with you about the Invoice for Time and Expenses feature in QuickBooks Desktop. Yes, it's still available.
To get this turned on, follow the below steps:
Once done, you can go to the Home page of your QuickBooks Desktop account. You'll see that the invoice icon will change and if you click the drop-down arrow, the Invoice for Time & Expenses will show up.
Tap Invoice for Time & Expenses to see the feature. From there, a new window will open with all the un-invoiced time and expenses into one screen.
Please let me know how it goes. I'll be looking forward to hearing back from you. Have a great day!
Welcome to the Community, @connectcore. I'm here to help ensure you're able to use the Time and Expenses feature in your upgraded QuickBooks.
First off, let's ensure you set up the preferences that will allow us to mark expenses as billable time on the timesheets. Here's how:
For the unbilled time, you can customize the reports in QuickBooks Desktop to help you achieve the report you need for your business.
We can find a report for each: Unbilled Time, Expenses, and Items. Once we find the reports, then we can export them into Excel and make it into one report.

Thank you for your reply.
I have followed the steps 1-6 that you laid out to ensure that I can mark expenses as billable on my timesheets. These settings were set previously and are in place.
I do see a way to create a report by customer of unbilled activity.
The only thing unanswered in my question is the "Invoice for Time and Expense" feature. Does it still exist anywhere in the program? if so, then how do I get to it?
Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to us, connectcore.
I appreciate the screenshot you've provided. The Invoice for Time & Expenses option is only available in QuickBooks Desktop Premier and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise versions.
You'll need to manually add the billable time on your invoices with the Pro version.

I wish that the lack of this feature in various versions was more clear so that I would have purchased the correct version from the outset.
