QuickBooks Desktop Error When Importing Excel File



Searched everywhere and cannot find an answer to this specific error message.  It happens when I am trying to import an excel file


I have Office 2013 installed.

Office reinstalled

Restarted Computer

Updated Quickbooks

Windows 10


It says

"Microsoft Excel could not be found.  Refer to the Help topic on Microsoft Excel to see which Excel versions are supported.  If you have one of these versions installed, try reinstalling it."

I've checked and found that the error is related to your downloaded Excel program. It would be best to get in touch with the Microsoft support first to see if there are restrictions set by the Admin. This could be the reason why you're getting this error.

Thank you for the reply.


As I had mentioned in my post, I have checked the office installation.  Office works with everything else.  This seems to be isolated to QuickBooks.


Is there any way to configure the path or location in QuickBooks so it knows where to look?
