I am running Quickbooks version 4.0.7-217 on two Mac's and have been experiencing some very frustrating problems/bugs for the past month or so. I will often have the application open while performing other tasks on my computer and will return to Quickbooks to create an invoice or do some other function and it will have an error saying "something went wrong" and I have to restart the app, and re-log in. Every time. Another major bug I've been experiencing is that any time I try to open a second tab within the app it restarts asking me to log in again, so I am unable to work in more than one tab ever. I have tried the Reset App Data function but it's not fixing the problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm running Mojave 10.14.5 on both an iMac and Mackbook Pro.

Your patience with this issue is much appreciated.
We use MAC Desktop 2016 and suddenly a couple months ago QB began crashing every time we tried to open it. It all started after trying to convert an estimate to an invoice. Eventually we had to restore an old backup and re-enter al the transactions to that point. Everything was working okay until today. After doing a lot of work and entering many transactions the the program crashed and I'm back to the point where it won't open at all like a few months ago.
I should note that I've got the most current R upgrade running Version: V17.2.32 R33.
Hi there, @mac2it.
Let's check why your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac crashes constantly.
Last May 31, 2019, the access to the add-on services was discontinued for QBDT 2016. However, if you don't use any of the add-on services, your product will continue to work for you. If you've experienced issues while working with your QuickBooks 2016, you may need to update QuickBooks occasionally.
For further details, you can check this article: Update QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
If the issue persists, you may have to run the built-in diagnostics and repair tools called rebuild and verify data utilities. These tools comb through, repair, and notify you of data damage within the file.
If it finds an issue with your data, you will be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors. Choose Close, then perform the steps below:
If the problem continues, you may need to follow the next steps provided in this article: Troubleshoot Crash Catcher.
That should help fix the issue you're getting. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm just here to help. Wishing you continued success!
I was able to speak with someone on the phone and they were able to help. As it turned out, they were able to get me to install a fresh copy of the full app which then opened the data file fine.
