Buy nowI am running Quick books Desktop Pro 2019 on a PC with Windows 10 Pro with 16GB Ram and a solid state drive. For a few weeks every time I start the Quick books Desktop Pro application it takes an unusually long time to finish starting up and begin using the program.
I have downloaded and run the Quick books Desktop File Doctor on my Quick books Company file (stored locally on my PC) and it did not find any issues.
What else can I try to fix this slow application start problem?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, jrm41.
I'll share some info and solutions to help load your QuickBooks faster.
Here are a few possible reasons why you're getting a performance issue with the program:
To fix this, let's make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release. You can find the instructions in this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Once updated, try to open the application. If you're still getting the same result, we can run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
Here's how:
From the Tool Hub, select Program Problems and select Quick Fix my Program. The Quick Fix will shut down any open background processes QuickBooks uses. It'll run a quick repair on your program.
After the steps, open the QuickBooks application again and check to see if it's faster this time. Otherwise, check for other solutions here.

Please let me know how things go after giving this a try. I'd like to make sure this is resolved for you. Take care!
The problem is only when the program starts, right? It takes over a minute to get QuickBooks ready to use. I suspect it is related to the backend process to verify our license on their server.
