Quickbooks Desktop Web Mail

I've been trying to set up web mail on the quickbooks desktop and it worked yesterday. I had added my emails and unchecked the option to use enhanced security options and everything worked fine. The Gmail does not have two-factor turned on and allows less secure apps. However today, when I went to send an email, I got hit with "Incorrect Credentials or Gmail Settings" but I had already changed everything according to the quickbooks article. Not sure what to do. Please advise

Worry no more, the instructions below are sure to help you get your invoices sent @Twinkle1.

First, let's update QuickBooks to the latest release

  1. Go to Help, then Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select the Options tab, and then Mark All. Then, Save.
  3. Click the Update Now tab, and tick the box next to Reset Update.
  4. Hit Get Updates.

Next, let's check your app preferences to see if there's something that blocks the connection to your Google account. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your Gmail account.
  2. Go to the Less secure app access section.
  3. Turn Allow less secure apps on.

Lastly, check your anti-virus settings. You can search your anti-virus provider's website for steps on how to allow port exceptions. Make Port 587 open for Gmail and all other email services.

Once done, go back to QuickBooks and email yourself a test transaction so we can test if it's working or not. Please see this article to learn about fixing webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop. You can also learn how to turn on or off 2-step verification for your Gmail in that article.

I'm attaching this awesome article on how to configure a firewall manually that I'm sure you'll find helpful. It contains detailed steps and other related resources.

That'll do it. Get back to me if you have other concerns about QuickBooks. I'll be around to assist you further. Thanks for joining us today and have a nice day ahead.
