Re: quickbooks does not see internet

Good to see you in the Community, @arcturus.

Virtual Servers are still new to the QuickBooks environment. Right now, it's not supported, but we see no reason that they should not work. To help you with the network setup, I recommend consulting with your IT professional.

You can read more information about supported network types and system requirements in the following articles:

Additionally, to make sure QuickBooks Desktop connects to the internet, let's ensure Internet Explorer is your default browser and it is updated to its latest release.

Here's how:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner (or click Tools).
  3. Click Internet Options.
  4. Click the Programs tab.
  5. Under Default Web Browser, click the Make Default button.
  6. Click OK.

If you get the same result, I suggest the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article: Verify and Troubleshoot QuickBooks Desktop and Internet Explorer settings.

Should you have any follow-up questions or concerns, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll be happy to assist you. Have a good day!

Re: quickbooks does not see internet

It's nice to have you back, @arcturus,

I can add a bit more information on how to view the QuickBooks log files. I want to ensure you're able to work with QuickBooks smoothly.

All QuickBooks log files are stored in the QBWin.log to help determine certain errors in the QuickBooks Desktop company file. To access this, follow the steps below:

  1. Inside QuickBooks, press F2 or Ctrl+1 to open the Product Information window.
  2. Press F3 or Ctrl+2 to open the Tech Help window.
  3. Go to the Open File tab.
  4. Select QBWIN.LOG, then choose Open File.

I also recommend contacting our QuickBooks Technical Team to get help with the internet settings configuration. Follow the steps below to get our contact details:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Home Page, then tap the Help menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click the Contact us button.

That should do it. Please update me on how this goes. I want to make sure you're all set. Have a great day!
