Quickbooks Enterprise 20 crashes when trying to print checks or when going to File > Printer Setup and clicking on any printer or clicking print options button

A full uninstall and reinstall did not solve the issue.

1. From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
2. In the Have a Question window, scroll down to click the Contact us link.
3. This will display the Contact Us screen.
4. Go to the Tell us more about your question section to enter the issue or topic in the field box.
5. Click the Search button to display the Start a Message button.

Support's answer was to install Quickbooks 2021....which is a silly answer and I told the support rep as much.  

We created a sample QB file to verify that the issue was not with the main company file we use and put it on the workstation we are using.  The same issue occurs.  Try to go to printer options under File > Printer Setup 

OR

just changing the printer under File > Printer Setup for Check / Paycheck - Quickbooks crashes.

I suggest you go through a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this error you get in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @WickedLiquid.

I'll share the steps with you:

1. The first thing you can do is download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
2. After you finish the download and installation of the tool, run it.
3. Locate the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool.
4. Proceed to print a sample check after the process.

Thanks Ryan, That appears to have solved the issue.

My client is still having this problem - even after doing all of those solutions mentioned in the article.  Support's answer was "upgrade to Quickbooks 2021" - which is not an answer.  They just did not want to deal with me any longer.

I have other troubleshooting steps to help you get through this issue. A damaged or corrupt QB file can also result in the occurrence of such an issue. This can be resolved by renaming the file. Follow the steps as provided:   

1. Open QBPrint.qbp file.
2. Right click on QBprint.qbp file
3. Select Rename option, and Rename Now.
4. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
5. Go to File menu, and tap Printer Setup.
6. Select any transaction in the Form Name list.
7. Click on OK.
8. Make another QBprint.qbp file.
9. Try to open file and print any transaction.
