QuickBooks Online Invoicing Permissions

My users (Standard users with limited access to Customers only) are receiving this error "Check with your QuickBooks online admin to be sure you have permission to see your company data" after they save an invoice, then they save again and everything looks good but the invoices are being duplicated.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @sergiodperezp. Let me help you sort things out. 

 

I tried to add a standard user with limited access to a customer here on my end, and the user was able to add and save the invoices in the mobile app without getting the error message. Now, let's isolate if this is user permission or a mobile app issue. 

 

If you have another user with the same access, check if they can receive the same error when saving an invoice. If yes, I suggest contacting our support team directly for them to investigate this further. Otherwise, let the user who receives the error message perform some troubleshooting steps to refresh applications and eliminates common issues.

 

For QuickBooks Online app:

 

  • Android - Select the menu at the top right and select Settings. Then click Refresh Data and choose Yes.
  • iOS - Choose the menu at the top right and then click Help & Feedback. Then select Refresh Data and Refresh.

 

In the Phone Settings:

    • Android - From your phone's settings, click Apps (varies by device). Choose the QuickBooks app from the list and select Storage. Select clear data.
    • iOS - From your phone's settings, click Settings, choose General, and choose iPhone Storage. Select an app that's taking up a lot of space. To free up the cache without deleting the documents and data for the app, select Offload App.

 

Then, delete the user and add him again to your account. 

 

Once you isolate the issue, let the user delete the duplicate invoice. There was a double entry of the transaction since you mentioned that they save it twice. For detailed steps, please see this resource: Void or delete transactions in QuickBooks Online.
