Quickbooks Online is very slow

Your help window says:

"Intuit expects the most-used pages in QuickBooks Online to load in 10 seconds, and we continually monitor our systems to ensure we are meeting this goal."

 

In reality,10 seconds is way too slow for a well designed system.  However, in our case, 10 seconds would be blazing fast.  We run about 20-30 seconds before a page loads, and that's on a good day.  Most days, it's more.

 

We've done everything that Intuit suggests: we have the most current version of Chrome.  We've cleared cache, cookies, etc.  Windows and everything else is up to date.  Internet speed test says we have very good response (56.6 down, 11.1 up). 

 

We are so frustrated that we are seriously considering dropping the online version and going back to the desktop version.  What can be done to speed QB up?

I appreciate your time getting in touch with us today. I can share some insights on how to get past this performance issue in QuickBooks Online.


Before we begin, may I know if the issue occurs when using a different browser, or is this only happening in Chrome?  Knowing more about the issue will help me conduct further investigations, so I can provide the most accurate resolution to you.

 

Here are the supported browsers for QBO that you can use:

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Google Chrome. Since you are already using Chrome, ensure you are using the latest release by going to the Chrome menu, selecting Help, and choosing About Google Chrome.
  • Mozilla Firefox 
  • Safari- version 11 or later.

In the meantime, let's check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements for QuickBooks Online. If you're using a computer with a supported web browser, please check the following specifications:

  • PC: Intel Core i3 or a comparable processor (2013 or newer) with 2GB of RAM, running Windows 7 or later.
  • Mac: Running OS X 10.11 or later.
  • We do not support Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu or Fedora.
  • Mac: Running OS X 10.13 or later.
  • An Internet connection of 1.5Mbps or higher.

However, if you're using a computer with the latest version of modern Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge browsers. We recommend:

  • PC: An Intel Core i5 or comparable processor (2015 or newer) with 4GB+ of RAM, running Windows 7 or later.
  • Mac: Running OS X 10.13 or later.
  • We do not support Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu or Fedora.

  • An Internet connection of 3Mbps or higher.

Everything is up to date.  Computers meet the requirements.  Web connection is good.  I can't see much difference, if any, in running with Edge vs. Chrome.
