Hello there, @llindsley74.
Thanks for sharing the details of what you're trying to achieve today. I know how you want to edit the search engine the way how QuickBooks Desktop does when looking for customers.
At the moment, we're unable to edit that. However, you can search your customers easily by holding down CTRL+F (for windows) or Command+F (for Mac) in the Customer's lists. Here's how:
- Go to the Sales tab from the left menu.
- Select Customers.
- Press CTRL+F or Command+F and start typing your customer's name.
Just in case you'll need to keep track of your activities in the future, read through this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you need help with anything else about QuickBooks, @llindsley74. It would be my pleasure to answer your next post here in the Community.
