Since the primary user for QuickBooks Point of Sale is not available, you must reset the admin password using the Automated Password Reset tool. Please be aware that the Point of Sale desktop versions were discontinued as of October 2023, so you cannot register new software or accept new users.
- Go to the Automated Password Reset tool for QuickBooks Desktop: https://passwordreset.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/passwordreset.
- Choose your version of QuickBooks Point of Sale and location.
- Fill in your QuickBooks license number and the business information used during registration.
- Download and run the Automated Password Reset tool. If it doesn't automatically start, click Download now.
- Enter the token number sent to your email address.
- Click Browse to select your company file.
- Enter and confirm a new password.
- Select Reset Password to complete the process.
