When I open up quickbooks on my phone I have 2 issues

1. It opens straight away and there is no password prompt. Can I change this setting so that I always need to put in a password?

2. It opens direct into the home page and all my income is visible . There is no privacy when I am opening it to do an invoice in front of the client and I need to ensure I hide the home page. Can I get some privacy when getting into quickbooks. At the moment I only have the trial version so they are made up figures anyway.

Hi KeithO67,

The password might have been auto-saved when you open the App. You'll want to clear the App's cache from the settings. The steps depend on the kind of phone you're using.

The privacy setting is unavailable in QuickBooks Self-Employed. I will submit a product request to our engineers about this feature for you.

You can always reach out to us anytime if you have other questions.

I have android. I have tried clearing the caches in Settings. I go to the App in settings, go to storage and then I have 2 options; clear data/clear cache. I click on clear cache and the Cache goes to 0B.  when I go back  the 291 kB has come back . Any guidance would be appreciated, as I cannot understand why it does not stay on 0B

I would have though that a privacy setting would be standard given Data Protection. I just had a client who tells me he only uses it for the ease of raising invoices because of this one issue.

I have tried the App in settings in my android phone. It clears the cache and then when I go back in it shows it back again. I do not understand this. I cannot get the password to activate. I only have the free version for trial so that might be an issue.

As for privacy, this really should be a standard feature given data protection. A client I know only uses it for the ease of raising invoices due to this one issue. Who wants their client seeing there income and tax liability on the home screen?

Thanks for the quick response, KeithO67.

Let's try the steps below to turn off the auto fill settings for Android:

  1. Open the web browser app.
  2. Tap on the Menu key, and then Settings.
  3. Go to Advanced section, and then Privacy.
  4. Uncheck "Remember passwords".

With regard to the cache memory, it's best to consult Android experts.

I'll be here if you have other QuickBooks questions.
