QuickBooks TAKES FOREVER to Backup & Open

Here is my office set up:
My office has three computers that access QB data files on a server. However, the software, QB Accountant Desktop is actually downloaded onto each individual C Drive of each computer. So on Computers A, B, C all have Quickbooks Accountant downloaded to their C Drives. But the QB Data files (client files) are on a server that every computer accesses. So if the data file Tom Smith Restaurant is corrupted, then if I tried to open it on any of the three computers, the data file will be corrupted.

 

Here is my problem:
Computer A and B can open any QB Company data file and back it up in under 2 minutes. However, Computer C takes over 10 minutes to open ANY data file and it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to backup a company. Computer A can open up Mexican Restaurant Inc and then back up the company in under 5 minutes. Computer C then will try to open the same company, and it will take over 5 minutes just to open.

 

Solutions tried:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling QB
  • Updating QB
  • Copy the data files onto the C Drive then try to open them (same problem)
  • Run QB as an Administrator
  • Run QB Doctor

This is NOT because Computer C's memory is full. Currently, there is 812GB free out of 922 GB.

This is NOT because of any anti-virus, this is a new issue that started a week ago and Computer C has been used constantly for over a year.

This is NOT because the computer is old, Computer C is barely 1.5 years old.

 

So....any solutions?

Since you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps, I recommend calling our Phone Support. They have the additional tools, like screen sharing, that can get into your account in a secure environment to further check what causes this issue. 

 

Here's how to get in touch with our QuickBooks Desktop Customer Care team:

  1. Go to https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact
  2. Select QuickBooks for Windows.
  3. Select your QuickBooks for Windows version.
  4. Select a topic.
  5. Click on the Get Phone Number button.

That should point you in the right direction today.
