Quickbooks Wont switch to Single User Mode

Hello all,

So lately (within the last month) nearly every day I have had to remote into the server and run the scan tool in the Quickbooks Database Manager because our end users complain that they cant switch the file from Single User to Multi User mode. This issue happens nearly every time that the file gets switched back from Multi User to Single user.

Once in single user, when the end user tries to switch it to Multi they get error: H202 (picture of full error is attached)

The error states to do as i have done every time, run the QBDM and run the scan of the folder with the file and it works every time, but its extremely cumbersome and annoying to have to stop what im doing once a day to have to complete a task that seemingly should never need to be done. I could understand once in a blue moon but this is happening nearly ever single day.

Any Ideas on what might cause something like this? Company file corruption? Bad connect to server? The issue is easily resolved but id rather find a fix than keep having to apply the band-aid every time it happens.

Any information or advice is welcome and appreciated, thank you!QBerror.png

Quickbooks Wont switch to Single User Mode

Welcome to the Community space, Dylankent25. Thanks for providing detailed information about your concern.

Let me get the help you need so you can switch to Single User mode.

QuickBooks error H202 is an error that pops up when a user tries to use QuickBooks in multi-user mode. This error implies that the multi-user connection to the server is blocked. To fix this, run the QuickBooks Database Server Manager on your server.

Here's how:

  1. Download the Database Server Manager.
  2. Install Database Server Manager.
  3. Set your firewall permissions.
  4. Update Database Server Manager.

However, if the error H202 persists, follow the Solution 2 in this article: How to fix Error H202 and H505.

Adding you some articles which you may find helpful:

Keep me posted how things go on your end. I want to ensure this gets resolved for you. Have a great day.
