Let's get rid of the unexpected error so you wan open QuickBooks, jtmallon.
You can start by making sure QuickBooks meets the system requirements needed to run the program. Check out this link to find out what you need: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021.
If you already have completed the requirements, you can manually update your QuickBooks. Before starting, back up your company file.
After that, update QuickBooks for Mac. Here's how:
Step 1: Uninstall QuickBooks for Mac.
- Close QuickBooks.
- From the Finder menu, select Go Applications.
- Drag the QuickBooks icon to the Trash.
Step 2: Reinstall the latest version.
- Go to QuickBooks Downloads and Updates.
- Make sure to select the correct country, product, and version.
- Select Search.
- Select Download to download the installer file.
- Double-click the .dmg file.
- Drag the QuickBooks icon to the Applications folder to install
- To verify the update and check the release number, open QuickBooks and press Cmd+1.
- Once done, restore your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
