1099 Wizard crashes QB

Hi there, @RFZ.

You've come to the right place. I'm here to help share some steps to get past the crashing issue on your QuickBooks Desktop.

There can be possible causes why QuickBooks Desktop crashes while working on it. These are the following:

  • Your company name may be too long.
  • You may have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
  • You may have corruption on your hard drive.
  • Your program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged.
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system.

To get this sorted out you can use the QuickBooks refresher tool. This tool ends QuickBooks processes running in the background and also performs mini repair on your QuickBooks Desktop.

To do that:

  1. Close all QuickBooks Desktop versions.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Refresher Tool.
  3. Save the file on your desktop.
  4. Run the QBRefresher tool.
  5. Re-open QuickBooks Desktop.

For complete details about this process, please refer to this article: Solutions if QuickBooks stops working.

Also, you can visit these article below for more troubleshooting steps for QuickBooks unexpected behavior and for more details about the 1099 wizard in QuickBooks Desktop:

If the issue persists after trying these steps, I'd suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They have an additional tool like screen-sharing that can help investigate what's causing the issue.

Please give these steps a try and let me know how it goes. I'm just a reply away if you have any other questions about this concern. Have a great day.
