6/14/19 Shipping Manager for USPS (Stamps.com) shipments a charge of $1.97 ($8.80 + $1.97). Why??

Starting today, 6/14/19, when processing packages via shipping manager and USPS, the estimated shipping cost now has $1.97 added to every box no matter if it is a package, regional box, or cubic box. Stamps.com says it is Intuit though Intuit never heard of this and in the past they have always had a "hands off" approach to this.

Is anyone else seeing this today??

Thanks!

Mine started doing 1.98 charge yesterday. I shipped on Saturday morning with no issue.... now its trying to charge me 1.98.... I am not paying 1.98 per package. This is insane. I will either cancel QB, Stamps.com, or both if I need to... That is several thousands a month. I called QB yesterday and they told me to just ship outside of their platform. QB blamed stamps.com and told me to check my settings and Stamps.com said it was a QB issue. There must not be a lot of people who ship out of QB or not enough owners are figuring it out till they see that their shipping expense increased by 20% for no reason because this is a serious issue.

My additional shipping surcharge is now $1.98. In speaking with Intuit I was told twice that this is a Stamps.com charge.  I spoke with Stamps.com twice today and they insist that they are not adding this fee. On a third call to Intuit I was told that it is a new fee added by the post office. Again, not true. Finally after waiting 43 minutes to speak with a supervisor, she found that yes, this was an Intuit Shipping manager "issue" that they are looking into. I'm sure they thought they could just slide this in in with no one noticing. I suggest that you complain LOUD and OFTEN about this b&^ls&*t charge.

Having same issue. They are both pointing the finger at each other and saying we are not taking the fee. I'm sure if you could follow the money you would find the responsible party. The way it appears stamps is getting the money. No way its a glitch or shipping manager issue without them knowing what is going on. I believe the support people everyone is talking to at both Stamps and Intuit actually don't know it above them. Possibly even an employee who will have some explaining to do.#followthemoney

This is happening to me too (January 1, 2021). I'm using QB Desktop Shipping manager to produce priority mail shipping labels  for flat rate envelopes. These should cost $7.15 each according to the USPS. But if you press "F2" the shipping manager program shows you the "estimated rate" of "$7.15 + 2.02".  I have screen shots of this. I also noticed this happening last year and the year before for a period. But now I have about a hundred labels to print which means $200+ in additional costs. Stamps.com has a current add that says its QuickBooks® Shipping Manager for USPS has "no surcharges" and "no hidden costs". Yeah right. Anybody else not happy with this?

I was having the same issue when processing a USPS package.  I wanted to confirm that I wasn't being charged an extra fee.    Using stamps.com you also have access to your online account.   I got online with stamps.com and they are not charging us the extra fee that quickbooks was showing.  In my case it was $2.07.  So this is definitely a QuickBooks issue. Sure hope they get it resolved soon, but I feel better knowing that stamps.com is not  charging more than the estimated and correct amount for shipping.
