Access Company File Remotely

I have a Desktop account for Quickbooks installed on my laptop and need to be able to access our company file remotely from home. We are struggling on how to access the company file from a different network. Could anyone be of service here??

You have to use a remote access program in order to log in to your laptop from another computer. Google Remote Access is free and does not have a lag. There are lots of other programs (JoinMe, LogMeIn, etc.) that charge a fee.

The issue I have is that I have my laptop that has the Quickbooks program on it, but have to access the network at work. Can I dial into a computer on the network that doesn't have the Quickbooks program to access the file from there, or does the computer being dialed into have to have the Quickbooks program on it?

You should be able to dial into a computer on the network without a Quickbooks program on the computer you are using to dial in.

If you are remote accessing the computer, and want to work on QuickBooks, you will need to access a computer with the QuickBooks software installed. You need the software to open the company file.
