billable items on quickbooks

When entering vendor bills, I indicate the item as billable to a specific customer. However sometimes, I have invoiced prior to entering the bills, therefore the billable item remains pending, even though it has been billed. I know I can enter the vendor bill and untick it. I just want to ensure that it does not affect anything else, if I untick it. In particular sales tax, as I am trying to eradicate all the billable items, from history. (sorry I am an amateur on quickbooks!). Can I untick without worrying it will affect anything else? Thanks

Re: billable items on quickbooks

How are you doing, Kirsty77?

Yes, you can untick the billable items without worrying any changes. You can verify it by running either Profit and Loss (P&L) or Balance Sheet  Standard report.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Company &Financial.
  3. Select Profit and Loss or Balance Sheet Standard.

P&L shows your net based on your income and expenses.

While the Balance and Sheet is financial statement of your business. It shows your net income for a period of time.

I'm looking forward to help you more with QuickBooks Desktop.
