Desktop has this report but I'm not sure about QB Online Payroll. An Intuit employee will probably chime in to let you know how to run the report.
Glad to have you here in the Community, @pwilson.
Let's pull up reports so you can get info and export them for a retirement plan.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can use the Employee Details and Payroll Details reports.
Employee Details report shows a current snapshot of each employee, including employee's name, SSN, pay rate, deductions, contributions, matching and tax withholding. Here's how to generate it and export it:
Please see the screenshots below to guide you through the steps.
Payroll Details report provides details for selected paychecks, including the hours worked, amount, taxes, and deductions. Here's how to pull it up and export it:
If you'll need to check both the employee and company contributions to all your retirement plans, you can use the Retirement Plans report. Here's how to run it:
If you'll need to export it, you can choose Export To Excel on the Share drop-down at the upper right of the report.

I am using QB Desktop Pro 2017 - What is my best option for a report to be able to export our 401k information?
Hello there, jpainter57.
There are lots of reports available to export 401K information. One of those is the Summary Payroll Data report.
Here's how to pull it up:
It will give you an excel file with different information. Though it's not on one page, there are tabs you can select to see specific data.
On the excel file, you can go to the Employee Journal tab to see the Employee names, SSN, 401K contributions, and other taxes. On the Hours tab, you can see the total hours the employee rendered on that specific time-frame.
You'll want to play around with the file to see other information included. If you have other questions about payroll, please let me know.
Your best option is not the payroll summary report (not even close.)
Instead start at Reports | Employees & Payroll | More Payroll Reports in Excel | Deferred Compensation Report (for 401(k) & more)
There are several customization options for the fields to include:
After picking the fields you want, then create the report, which can look something like this, as needed:
I have tried and tried to run this report but my excel and QB Enterprise has to process 187233 files and it takes well over an hour. Any suggestions?
Thanks for joining the discussion, @caryan123.
We value your time and your business. I've got a suggestion that you can try with running your reports through Excel.
Processing huge files from QuickBooks Desktop to an Excel will take time. However, you have an option to run the report by batch. This way, QuickBooks will produce lesser data and have it processed faster than usual.
Here are some resources that you can refer to for some details about managing Excel reports in QuickBooks Desktop:
Please let me know if you have further questions about this. I'd be pleased to help you out. Have a good one!
RE: Any suggestions?
Do something else while it runs.
That's a huge amount of data.
