Join nowCan you completely delete a Company and all its associated files?
I know that you can edit the list of companies and "hide" a particular company. But when I go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company_Files I can still see the files associated with that company.
Can I just delete any and all files with the particular name of the company I want to completely delete there?

If you never need these files ever again, yes you can delete those companies and files with same name but they will be gone forever so if you need anything from them at leadtvsave your last backup on removable media.

Yes. Make sure you clear the Windows Recycle Bin as well.

Thanks John,
I really want to make a completely new Company with the same name. That is the reason I want to delete the one I made. But I also noticed there are other files in some folders in the same location that have the company name. So I assume that those should be deleted as well. I should delete any file I find in that location with the particular company name I want to delete so I can create it again
Hi aquaclear! Thanks to John Pero's answer!
I just noticed this other thread of yours. Yes, you can delete the other files with the same names. Most of them are temporary files, backups, or anything created as you used the working company file (.QBW). The file names are the same, but the extensions or formats are different.
You can reply to this thread or use the other one if you need more help.
Thanks I deleted all the files with the company name and it seems to have worked. I am learning QB and making sample companies to try different things. Thanks again.
