Creating a new company

I am trying to create a new company.  The first window that comes up asks me if I am creating for myself or for another.  I chose for myself then it makes me log into Intuit.  Next I complete the new company profile entering Business Name, Industry, Business Type, Admin's email, etc.  When this is done the "Create Company" button turns colors but when I click it, it will not create the company or do anything further.  I have rebooted and tried several times.  Started a chat with Support and they want me to purchase a support plan.  I don't understand why I should pay to create a company file?  I have 3 other companies and those work fine.  I also tried creating the sample company and that worked as well.  Any help would be appreciated.

Issues like this usually appear if your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software is outdated. Let's update your QBDT software to have the latest features and fixes. This will also enhance the software's overall performance. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the Help menu
  2. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Go to the Update Now tab. 
  4. Click Get Updates to start the download.
  5. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
  6. Accept the option to install the new release when prompted.

Creating a new company

Unfortunately this did not work. I've attached a screenshot of where I get stuck.  The "Create Company" button is highlighted by clicking it or hitting return does nothing.  I have tried with every field being completed.  This screenshot only had the required fields completed.

When creating a new company file in QuickBooks Desktop, you have two setup options. You can use the Express Start way if you want to get started right away. You'll only need to enter your business name, industry, and business type to create your company file.

 

Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. In the No Company Open window, choose Create a new company.
  2. Hit the Express Start button.
  3. Fill in the necessary information.
  4. Tap Create company.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.

However, if the issue persists, try to fill out the other information.
