Join nowHello,
I was wondering if there anyway to have the sale receipt # empty the next time i create a sale receipt or a recurring sale receipt, i thought turning off the auto-fill in advanced setting would stopped this to paste the previous sale receipt #, but seem like it doesn't.
I rather have it empty then pre-fill of previous receipt # that way it leave me a better vision of what's not filled in/not done.
Welcome back to the Community,
The auto-recall feature will only pre-fill information such as customer, vendor, or employee for Enter Bills, Write Checks, or Enter Credit Card Charges (excluding transaction number). To isolate this issue, try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses.
Here's how:
Once signed in, create a test sales receipt again to double-check. If the transaction number is correct, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache.
Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data, which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.
Please let me know how it goes or if you have any other issues or concerns. I'll be here to assist. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hello @mikelu9661,
Even if you've turned off the Pre-fill forms function, QuickBooks will still enter the last transaction number you created. You'll want to manually remove them in the Sales Receipt no. field and save it to create a sales receipt with an empty transaction number.
You can read through these articles for ideas in managing your customer's transactions.
I'll be here if you need more help. Have a good one!
