Encryption at Rest in Quickbooks 2016 Pro

Hello,

My company uses Quickbooks 2016 Pro for reference, and requires the data files to be encrypted at rest with AES128 or 256 level of encryption to comply with CPI (Confidential Private Data) requirements. I am looking for a confirmation if Quickbooks 2016 Pro has adequate level of encryption. Our server is multiuser, passwords are enabled. If Quickbooks does not have required level of encryption, what other tools or alternatives do we have?

Thank you!

-Stan.

Company didn't mention anything about AES 128/256

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/security-and-access/password-security-for-quickboo...

QBD 2016 is also not supported by company anymore.

Should you need an encrypted environment, consider usiang an endpoint secusity solution with the encryiption feature to protect all device and your network. Most of endpoint secuirty solutions support AES 256.

Found this about QB2012, they mention AES-256 encryption in the footnote

Thanks for getting back to us, @stan_shafir.

Similar to QuickBooks 2012, the 2016 version uses the highest level of data security and privacy tools

In addition, all versions of QuickBooks are compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

You can also check these following articles on how QuickBooks protects the data privacy of our customers:

If you have any other questions please let me know. I'm always glad to help any way I can.

Thank you for the links, but they do not answer specific question I have.  While PCI standards are great, they do not specify requirement for using AES algorithm.  Would it be possible to consult with the product engineers?   So far I have seen information on different blogs that AES-256 is used for Quickbooks backups, but it is nearly impossible to find something in the company's official sources.

Thank you.
