Hi userchwolf.

QuickBooks Online is very sensitive to every detail we enter, especially when it comes to processing payments. This is for security purposes.

The Error Code: -81624 means that the payment authorization failed. The reason for this is an invalid address or the details we enter is not matching with the financial institution. Make sure everything is correct. You'll want to reach out to your credit card provider to verify the details.

I'm also including the link to the steps for you to reach our support team, should you continue to have the error I suggest reaching out to them, as they will be able to dive into your account and share your screen, to determine exactly what's going on.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to post here anytime. Thank you and have a nice afternoon.

Thanks for jumping in on the thread, @1G. We're here to share some insights about the Error code:-81624 when trying to renew your subscription in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We understand the importance of renewing your subscription to our program without issues, so we'll ensure to provide you with some details and fixes to this issue.

In QBO, the Error code:-81624 happens when the bank blocks or fails to authorize or validate a payment transaction related to QuickBooks. This results in why you may not be able to complete the card payment process for your QBO subscription. Let me share some fixes below.

First, you'll want to clear your cache and cookies or try to update your payment details using a private browser. See this article for guidance: Clear cache and cookies.

After that, you'll have to make sure the following:

  • Ensure all your card billing information is correct and up to date.
  • The billing address in your QuickBooks company file matches the address on your card.
  • Your contact number is formatted correctly using the +area code.
  • There are no special characters or symbols (such as @ or *) in your billing address. Special characters cause errors.
  • Try to pay later. The system or connection may be available later that day.
  • Use a different card. The balance, card type, or permissions of a different card may allow the payment.
  • Contact your bank manager to ensure QuickBooks is approved to bill your account. They may need to do some checking from their end.

If the error persists, we recommend contacting one of our support agents. They can use their tools, check what's causing the error message, and fix it for us. To ensure you get on hold to our support team on time, please see this time available for our support team in this link: QuickBooks Online Support.
