Posting a question

When I post a question here in the community ,what's the difference between the various tabs on top of the ribbon: Rich Text, HTML and Preview?
When I write a message, I use paragraphs and punctuation, however, when I click to post it, it becomes all as one paragraph. How do I fix it?, does it have to do with the tabs mentioned above?

I appreciate the update, @EBFinancials.

It sounds like there may be some browser complications holding things up. Web-based platforms like QBO collect cache files (cookies) to save you time when loading repetitive data and images. These files can often become outdated or corrupted, causing strange display issues in your browser like the one preventing you from seeing the format ribbon. The instructions below can help you clear them without a moment's delay:

Clearing Temporary Cache Files

Once you've done this, the your browser will be forced to load a fresh new copy of everything displayed in the Community page, hopefully allowing you to post properly. Please keep me posted on your progress with this, I want to ensure your ability to reach out to us is unhindered by pesky formatting issues. Thanks for dropping in, I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I've got you covered, @EBFinancials.

These tabs represent the different ways you can prepare and review your Community posts, each of which I'll detail below:

  •  Rich Text is the most common format and likely the one you'll prefer. Using the Format toolbar (seen below), you can prepare your message with formatting, paragraphs, and punctuation per usual and it will appear this way when you post.

  • HTML requires the use of coding language to retain its formatting. If your posts were losing their paragraphs and punctuation after posting, this is likely the style you were writing in. I recommend avoiding it unless you are knowledgeable in HTML coding and its capabilities.

  • Preview, as you'd expect, simply allows you to view your thread in its completed state before posting.

That's all there is to it! Please let me know if you have any other questions about how you can use the Community to help ensure your success with QuickBooks. Thanks for reaching out, wishing you a wonderful rest of your day.

How to I post a question?

I have the same question - how do you post a question? And how do you comment on a post? For example, the help articles that come up when you search under community, which are referred to as "discussions" but don't actually seem to allow for any discussing.

Hi there, @Customer ID 1110399.

I'm here to ensure that you'll be able to email statements using QuickBooks.

If you're using QuickBooks Online, I recommend accessing your account using a private window. The issue that you encountered can be caused by the stored cache files on your browser.

QuickBooks Online uses browser cache files that temporarily saves your browsing data. When it’s full, you could experience unusual behaviors like being unable to email statements.

If it works fine, you can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to free up the storage space. Please refer to the process provided by my peer MichaelDL above, in doing this.

However, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop, make sure that the system is updated to its latest release to prevent issues like this. Once verified, and the problem continues, I suggest running the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This fixes email related problems in QBDT.

For complete details in performing this process, please see this link: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.

You can also check out these resources attached about emailing sales forms in QBDT and managing statements in QBO for reference:

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know by leaving a reply below. Have a lovely day!

Why does Intuit always seem to blame Windows or the browser you use for any type of issues they haven’t been able to fix in years?

Anyone feel the same way? They also are constantly lowering the features that come with the subscriptions, while raising the prices.

Please help businesses, we are all just trying to make a living.
