I'd like to share some information on how you can delete your company file in QuickBooks Online.


You have the option to completely delete all data in the company file and start over if your account is active for less than 60 days. Take note that this is only available for QuickBooks Online Plus or Essentials users. 


To do that:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
    Example: The URL will show you as: - change it to:
  3. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted. Type in the word yes, if you want the data to be deleted, and then select OK.
  4. Select Wipe Data once your selections are complete.

On the other hand, if your account is active for more than 60 days, you can no longer purge your company data. Instead, you have to cancel your account, then start a new subscription.
