How to add items to QuickBooks desktop via web connector?

I'm trying to add an invoice to QuickBooks by web connector, but it can't find an item and because of that can't create an invoice. How to create an item if it's not found in a separate transaction? I can't find documentation related to the ability to add new items. I was wondering if I can ask for an example in Java Axis2
