Hello I followed the instructions in your reply but I still cannot see where the data was transferred.
let me start from the beginning; April 2019 I started with the basic quickbook personal for 1 year free..About a week or so ago I was told free year was up and given the option to purchase quickbooks and I chose QUICKBOOKS SELF EMPLOYED for $17 a month I believe it was. Then I purchased TurbotaxBusiness, opened it and started my business taxes. I was then asked by turbo business if I wanted to import my tax info from quickbooks, I said yes, import BUT then got a message that said " Looks like you don't have Quickbooks selfemployed downloaded, save your work and visit Quickbooks and purchase quickbooks self employed"??? I'm extremely confused as to why its not seeing that I have quickbooks.
Thanks for keeping in touch with us here in the Community, @lashiondenson.
Allow me to share with you some information on why you're getting this error message when exporting your files from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax Business.
First off, for you to be able to export your files successfully, you'll have to use your TurboTax Self-Employed instead of TurboTax Business.
Also, you'll have to make sure to use the same username and password for your QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed account for this process to go through. Doing these things will prevent you from having this export error.
Once everything's set, you can now follow the steps provided by my colleague above.
However, if you wish to use TurboTax Business instead of TurboTax Self-Employed, you can do a manual entry. Just download your Tax Summary report and Tax Detail report. You can use it as a basis when adding your Schedule C information .Please contact the Turbotax Support Team for the steps on how to do it: Turbotax Support.
In addition, I'll be providing this article for more information about the export process from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax: How do I export files from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax?.
Feel free to get back here in the Community if you need more help. I'll be around to assist you further. Stay safe and have a great day, @lashiondenson.
Where is the tax checklist?
Hi cbchan03,
Welcome, and thank you for joining the thread. I'll share information about the checklist.
The checklist will be available in mid-January. We'll send notifications via email or popups in your QBSE account when it's ready. You can also check out the annual tax guide for your additional reference.
