Join nowIs there a way to integrate Quickbooks Online (QBO) with Excel? For example, we have three companies in QBO, and to create the monthly consolidated financials, we export the financials for the three companies and create consolidated financials in Excel. If there is an update to one of the company's financials, we re-download that company's financials to update the consolidated Excel financials. Is there a way to integrate QBO with Excel so that you don't have to re-download data once you have exported to Excel? Said differently, can QBO and Excel be linked so that an update in QBO can update a linked Excel file? I have heard you can do this in Quickbooks, but I am thinking it is not in QBO but in another version of Quickbooks.
Thanks for posting a question here in the Community, @KJW2020.
We're currently unable to auto-sync changes made to your data in QuickBooks Online when doing the export process. This applies also with the other version of QuickBooks. You'll have to manually export the data to get the updated information.
Meanwhile, I highly suggest visiting the Intuit developer site. This way, they can find options on how to integrate Excel app and have it auto-sync in QBO.
Try checking out these articles to know more about how to export data in QuickBooks Online. This way, you'll learn more about the export process and better manage your data.
You might as well consider reading this handy help article if you've got other QuickBooks concerns, such as setting up payments and online banking, managing your accounts, running reports and reconciliation, track income and expenses, etc. to run your business in a better way.

Thank you for your response. I'd like to confirm something. You say there is no auto-sync with Excel in Quickbooks Online, but then you provided a link where I can learn how to auto-sync Excel with QBO. Please clarify since those seem like contradictory statements. Also, I asked this question because I saw this article. What version of Quickbooks allows this?

Good morning, @KJW2020.
The link that you've provided is an article for QuickBooks Desktop 2013. To clarify, you have to manually export data to Excel from QuickBooks Online to update that information since there's not automatic sync. You can visit http://apps.intuit.com/ to check out our third-party apps that will allow auto-sync data with Excel.
Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. I'll be here. Have a beautiful day.
Thank you, Ashley. I noticed this app at the link you provided.

It seems focused on importing but exporting is mentioned. I can't tell from the description if this app will accomplish what I am looking to do with having three sets of financials in Excel that can sync and update with any subsequent changes made to the same financials in Quickbooks Online. Any insight?
Hi there, @KJW2020.
Since you want to know more specific information about the third-party app you mentioned above, I recommend emailing their support line. They'll be able to give you the information you're looking for and can also tell you if having three sets of financials in Excel will sync and update with any subsequent changes made to the ones in QuickBooks Online. You can find their contact info on the right-hand side of the page you linked above.
