Let's make sure to fix the connection error that you're getting, asalwey.

Generally, when getting this error it means that there might be a huge traffic issue with the website, or it could be under some maintenance or network issues. This creates a hindrance to your connection. But before we start, may I know what bank are you referring to? This way, we'll be able to isolate if this is an issue with your bank or QuickBooks connection. Furthermore, you can run a bank update to refresh the connection. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. From the left toolbar, select the Banking menu.
  2. Tap the Banking tab.
  3. Click to highlight the account you're updating, then hit the Update button.

However, if still, it doesn't update automatically, let's update your sign-in information to reconnect your bank account. Let me walk you through the steps.

  1. Click Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select the appropriate bank account from the list.
  3. Click on the pencil icon then select Edit sign-in info.
  4. Input your login credentials, then click Update.

For more information, you'll want to match your bank transactions with what you've entered in QuickBooks. Read this article for more information: Categorize and Match Online Bank Transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Fill me in if you need further assistance about updating your account. Remember, we're here to make things easier and ensure you'll get covered.

I use Bank of America and the other accounts that I have are also linked to BofA. The other accounts are automatically updating but the checking account is not. I do not have an option to update the sign-on info when i click the pencil, only edit account info. I have even tried disconnecting the connection and relinking it and it still will not update.

@asalwey

Utilize the trial version of SlickConnect to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank.
