Join nowSince installing this week's patches clients cannot use the Save to PDF function in Quickbooks Desktop Premier 2020 on Windows 10 Pro x64. Other machines at the same site that haven't installed the patches yet do not have the issue.
I read the Quickbooks troubleshooting steps to no avail and discovered that the problem PCs are missing the Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer.
I then tried manually re-adding the Document Writer printer, copying .inf files for the XPS Writer driver off another machine, removing and re-adding XPS writer from Optional Features, etc. Nothing. DISM and SFC /scannow found nothing.
Thanks for sharing the details, @greenmtnit.

Thank you Jovychris_A for the reply. Am I understanding correctly that this is a known issue to the Quickbooks Team?
Thanks again.
Hello Jovychris_A and thank you for the reply.
Am I correct in understanding that this is a known issue to the QB team? And is this something that's happened only recently? Thanks again for the info.
Over the years I've noticed QB PDF printing issues pop up. I don't bother any more with the variant of Adobe PDF that QBs always tries to use. I just use Adobe Acrobat Pro and just Print, with my printer being PDF.
If you don't want to spring for Adobe (understandable), there are some other PDF printers out there that work better than the internal QBs options. And in day-to-day life, I seldom print to paper. So my Acrobat PDF printer is my default printer. So it doesn't hurt to have a reliable PDF printer installed on your computer.
Update:
I fixed this and got the XPS Document Writer back by uninstalling 2020-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4549951).
Right-click on the start menu and select Windows Powershell (Admin)
Copy and paste this command and press enter
dism /online /Remove-Package /PackageName:Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~18362.778.1.9
Reboot and you should be all set.
Obviously, this will only apply if you've had the issue after April 2020's updates.
