Local scheduled backup does not work on Win 10

Local scheduled backups worked perfectly when QB ran on Win7.  Now after computer change to Win10, scheduled backups no longer work.  No errors are reported. Manual backup-now works, but scheduled backups simply do not happen.

There is no "task" scheduled in Win10 Task Scheduler, so posts about this being the problem are not addressable

Yes I have seen all the similar posts in this forum and none answer this problem.

This seems a rather serious problem.  Is there any Intuit people that can fix this...soon?

Local scheduled backup does not work on Win 10

Greetings WaimeaForrest,

I can help you fix the local scheduled backup in Windows 10.

It's possible that QuickBooks Desktop is still configured to Windows 7. To correct this, you can run QuickBooks in compatibility mode and manually select Windows 10 in the Configure for drop-down.

Here's how:

  1. Right-click the QuickBooks icon on your desktop, then select Run QuickBooks in compatibility mode.
  2. Select Compatibility and from the Compatibility mode section, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for:.
  3. From the drop-down, choose Windows 10.
  4. On the Privilege Level section, put a check on Run this program as an administrator.
  5. Select Apply and then Okay.

I've attached screenshots that show these steps as well.

The steps above can help you create local scheduled backup. Please feel free to let me know if you have any assistance about QuickBooks Desktop. I'm always here for you. Have a good one.
