Logging into QuickBooks online and QuickBooks community

Does anyone know why in order to log into QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks community I have to have an incognito window?  Is there a setting on my computer incorrect??

You can seamlessly access QBO in a regular browser as long as you have a strong and stable internet connection. A shortfall in any area can reduce performance. To sort out this issue, I suggest clearing your browser's cache to avoid blocking web pages from loading. You can follow the steps to clear the cache for your browser:

I have to do payroll before Monday, and I can't get into my QuickBooks account!

I know the urgency of being able log in at such critical time to process payroll. But before that, are getting any specific error messages? I'm here to guide you on how to resolve your login issues, Peggy.

 

If you forgot your user ID or password but have access to your registered email or phone, you can follow the steps outlined below:

 

  1. Visit our sign-in help page.
  2. Input the phone number, email address, or user ID.
  3. If you provide a phone number or email address, you'll receive a verification code via text or email. For user IDs, select your preferred contact method.
  4. Enter the verification code or follow the message instructions. Additional information may be requested to verify your identity.
  5. When prompted, reset your password or choose Skip.

 

On the other hand, if you lost or forgot your user ID and password and can't access the phone or email associated with your account, please fill out the account recovery form. We will process your request within one business day. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM PT.

 

Then, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Take a high-quality photo or scan of your driver's license, state ID, passport, or a notarized document.
  2. Complete the form below with your details and upload the ID or document
  3. Within one business day, check for an email from no_response@intuit.com outlining the next steps. If approved, you'll receive a link to reset your password.

 

However, if you think you've correctly provided the login credentials but still unable to sign in, it's possible this is related to your browser issues. You can log into your account using a private window. This mode doesn't save your browsing history, cookies, or data, providing a clean slate, and often resolves browser-related issues. I've added the shortcut keys below to show you how:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N(Microsoft Edge)

 

If you're able to sign in, return to your main browser and clear the cache to free up space and potentially improve your device's performance. If the problem continues, consider switching to another browser.
