Multiple printers

I am running the desktop version of QuickBooks Pro 2021.  I have 2 printers.  I want to print an invoice on printer 1 and then the envelope for it on printer 2.  If I go to File > Printer Setup and get the list of different forms for which I can set up defaults, there is no item for envelopes.  When I try to print an envelope, it shows me what seems to be the last printer I used (printer 1) and does not permit choosing a different one.  How can I switch to printer 2 when printing envelopes?  This should be a no-brainer....

Thanks for explaining your concern in such great detail, dillopkd. I'll gladly show you how to switch printers in QuickBooks.

Before proceeding, make sure QuickBooks Desktop is updated and your QBPrint.qbp file isn't damaged. I'd suggest displaying the hidden files and folders to find it.

Once verified, here's how to switch the printer:

  1. From the Start button, select Settings or Control Panel.
  2. Go to Printers and Faxes.
  3. On the Printers and Faxes dialog window, right-click on Printer 2.
  4. Select Set as Default Printer, then close.
  5. Open QuickBooks and go to the Printer Setup option from the File menu.
  6. Select the Envelope and then the Printer Name.
  7. Once done, click on OK.
