Hmmm .... I'm noticing it says that QB 2022 requires IE 11. I've been using Chrome for some time and on 2019 without any problem. I don't even think MS makes IE any more, they've moved to Edge. Am I going to have a problem on Chrome now when I didn't before?
Thanks for getting back to us in Community, @Photo-Al. I'll make sure that you'll be able to sort out this issue with QuickBooks Desktop.
Beforehand, you’ll want to make sure that your laptop or desktop computer meets the minimum system requirements for the QBDT program. This will ensure the system is compatible with your setup and help avoid any possible issues moving forward.
Here are some of the Operating System requirements to run QuickBooks Desktop 2022:
To receive recent updates from QuickBooks, it would be best to set IE 11 as your default web browser (instead of using Chrome). You can also refer to these article about setting and verifying IE as a default browser:
I'm just around the corner if you have any other QBDT concerns. Please don't hesitate to post again here. Have a good one.
Microsoft announced the end of support for Internet Explorer as happening on June 15 of this year. I do not have and do not wish to download IE any longer. I do have Edge, but don't use is too much, as Chrome has given me far fewer problems than IE ever did. I did not have any problems with Pro 2019 using Chrome, and was able to get the updates no problem. Exactly how big of a problem is this, as I don't want to spend any time changing browsers if not absolutely, positively necessary.
I also just noticed that QB does not support Edge at this time. What is QB going to do on June 16th, 2022?
Hello, Photo-Al.
I'd like to share some details regarding the news on Internet Explorer's discontinuation.
As of now, we don't have an official word from our engineers regarding Internet Explorer's discontinuation. As such, QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and the supported versions will still run.
Our engineers might still be working on laying down the options on what to do after IE's discontinuation. For now, I would recommend checking your email for updates or in-product pop-ups about it (if you're using a supported version).
In regards to the browser supportability for QuickBooks 2022, it does require IE11 to browse in-product webpages.
Just a heads up if you continue to use Chrome or without IE (given that it has been discontinued yet), there may be some issues when browsing the webpages such as the Bank Feeds, Help menu, etc..
I'd still wait for the official update on what to do before and during the IE discontinuation process.
We have a number of articles to help you manage your income and expense transactions. If you'd like assistance in managing your sales and customers, feel free to browse the articles here: Sales and customers.
While waiting for the official word, do you need help with your entries? Or do you need assistance in doing a specific task in QuickBooks? Let me know and I'll gladly lay down some details for you.

Your QBD 2019 is still running till now, correct? This means that there is still IE11 installed on your machine even though you have used Chrome as the main browser. If you haven't purchased QBD 2022, you can install the trial license to make sure it works on your machine.
