When printing my customized invoice, it prints out of alignment, about an1/8 inch to high. I made sure to set the page setup in the Layout Designer to my Epson inkjet, and correct paper size, US letter.

I have searched everywhere for an alignment adjustment, there is no "Fine Alignment window" that I can find anywhere.

Such a stupid problem !

I appreciate the steps you've performed to get your customized invoice to be aligned, @ncwildfoto.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps that can help us fix this. To start, use the coarse adjustments if you are using invoices, or forms purchased from Intuit.

Before doing so, make your continuous-feed printer is turned on, connected to your computer, and that the forms you want to print are in the printer's paper feed.

Here's how:

1. Go to the File menu, then pick Printer Setup.

2. Select Check in the Form Name drop-down.

3. On the Printer type drop-down, choose Continuous (Perforated Edge).

4. Click the Align, then the Coarse button. Hit OK on the pop-up message.

5. Check the pointer line and note the number closest to the arrow points.

6. Enter this number in the Pointer Line Position field, then OK.

I'm including an article that provides more information about how to use the coarse adjustments and make fine alignment adjustment in QuickBooks: Align checks, invoices, and other forms for continuous-feed (dot matrix) printers.

Morning Joesem

After more trial and error, I think we need to redefine the conversation. I was not talking about continuous feed printing, I was trying to talk about misalignment of the text, within the text boxes, when printing from common single sheet inkjet printers.

After working in the "Layout Designer" this morning, I have concluded QBs has major problems with different fonts, terrible workflow in Layout Designer. After making changes with fonts in a layout, then saving, seeing the effect in QBs, then coming back into the Layout Designer you no longer have proper interaction as you make more changes without clicking back on the layout !

And - if you are not using a a typical font like Helvetica, or Times the Layout Designer cannot handle the fonts typography, in my case I was using Tekton Pro, and it's vertical height would place it half out of the text box.

Also, the menu commands in "Format-Text-..." need to have shift arrows.
