Pro 2019 Icon Bar

I have upgrade to Desktop Pro 2019. I set the Icon Bar and choose to view on top. Worked fine one day. Now I can only see the Icon bar on left

How do I bring it to top.

I tried to go to VIEW and select "Top Icon Bar" get nothing.

Let's repair your QuickBooks Desktop to fix your display preferences. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to fix it and help you with how it's done.

 

First, you'll have to create a back up of your company file. By creating a back up copy prevents you from any data loss of your company file.

 

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to File.
  2. Choose Back Up Company.
  3. Select Create Local Backup.
  4. Hit Local backup.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select a local folder to save the backup copy of your company file.
  7. Click Finish.

Once completed, here's how you can repair your QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Go to Start.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Select Programs and Features.
  4. Choose QuickBooks in the list of programs.
  5. Hit Uninstall/Change.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Choose Next.
  8. Hit Repair.
  9. Click Finish.

This way, you'll be able to fix any issue in the display preferences of your QuickBooks. Please know that the steps will vary depending on the operating system of your computer.

Thanks for following the above steps that @JonpriL provided. You’ll need to Delete and Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop. This does a clean install of QuickBooks Desktop for Windows and fixes any company file issues. Deleting and Reinstalling won’t affect your data since the company file and everything it holds isn’t involved. 

 

Let me guide you how:

 

 Step 1: Gather your QuickBooks product information

  1. Download the installer for your version of QuickBooks.
  2. Have your license number handy. It should be on the original packaging or in the purchase confirmation email if you bought a digital version.
  3. Write down your product year and version.

 

Step 2: Uninstall QuickBooks Desktop

  1. Open the Windows Start menu, search for Control Panel, then open Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of installed programs, choose the version of QuickBooks Desktop you're having problems with.
  4. Find Uninstall/Change and follow the onscreen instructions.

 

Step 3: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop

I too am having problems with the icon bar in Enterprise QB19 not moving to the top after changing my preference.  I've done all the suggestions, repairing the file and reinstalling the file.  None of these worked.  Wasted way too much time troubleshooting something so simple, but yet important when I work in Quickbooks all day with about 25 companies.  My older versions are just fine; so sorry I started using QB19.  Intuit needs to do something quickly, it's can't be that difficult for them to fix.......and yes, it's important!!

I too am having problems with the lighted icons not going to the top icon bar in Enterprise QB19 after changing my preferences.  I tried all the suggestions:  repairing the file and reinstalling the file.  After wasting more time than I had for something so simple, I still don't have the icons at the top.  I have been using QB for close to 20 years and this is frustrating.  I have over 25 companies that I work in QB with all day long, and yes, the icons at the top are very important.  Intuit needs to find a fix, and stop sending us on wild goose chases that eat up valuable time.

HAS ANYONE FIXED THE ISSUE WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO DISPLAY THE ICON BAR ON THE TOP YET?

 

ALL THESE REPAIR AND UNINSTALL THINGS DO NOT WORK.  SOMETIMES I CAN GO TO CUSTOMIZE THE ICON BAR AND DELETE SOMETHING AND THEN THE ICON BAR WILL REAPPEAR ON THE TOP, THEN IT DISAPPEARS AND REESTABLISHES THE DELETED ICON, THEN I DO THE SAME THING AND THE ICON BAR GOES BACK UP TOP. 

 

ICON BAR ON TOP ALLOWS FOR A MUCH SMOOTHER OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM AND IS VERY MUCH NECESSARY.  DO WE HAVE A FIX YET QUICKBOOKS?
