Purchase order - Auto PO reodering

With the Auto PO function, you set a min (global reorder point) and a max reorder for each item.  When you run an inventory stock status by item report, WHY is it suggesting I reorder qty 1, for items that I have not set up a min & max for.. On those items, MAX = 0 by default.. Why is it suggesting I order 1!!!  This makes this whole auto PO system flawed and useless.  Please tell me I am missing something.

Purchase order - Auto PO reodering

Hello there, cjc357.

This can happen if a zero value is entered in the Reorder Point field of an item. Meaning, you need to restock a minimum quantity of one on an item at any given time.

Let's remove the value by following these steps:

  1. Click List located at the top and select Item List.
  2. Double-click on the inventory item to open the details.
  3. Under Inventory Information section, remove the zero value from the Reorder Point (Min) field.
  4. Click OK.

Once done, go back and run the Inventory Stock Status by Item report. You'll see that the Reorder Qty column will have the zero value.

If the same thing happens, please contact our Customer Care Team. We will investigate more on the issue.

@cjc357

It;'s the screwy way they set this up. I think that intuit felt that if you have something listed as inventory, you should stock at least one, so that is what it is trying to do. It ignores the min max if they are not set.

Thank you everyone that worked..  The fields should just be blank be default in instead of having a zero value.. That would make more sense.. Then it would work right out of the box
