QB Desktop Premier 2021

I just called QB US support and they cannot help me purchase QB Desktop Premier 2021 (if this has been released, otherwise the 2020 version will do) since our company is located here in the UAE and we don't have a billing address in the USA. I was wondering of having other options like below. Can you please help me?

1. What if I just use our sister companies US billing address?

2. QB support team says QB desktop is only available in the US, Canada and UK. I wonder how multigroup of companies located in different countries work if the desktop version is only available in these three countries. I don't think the QB online is the solution too because what if the other company have qbb files to send to another company located to another country (not in those three mentioned above)

3. If I will just purchase the QB Desktop Premier into a UAE QB dealer or from Amazon? Will it give me the same benefit? As I want an added QB support.

P.S. We already have QB online account. We just need QB desktop version since our sister company in the US uses QB Premier 2018.

If you are going to send files back and forth sharing with a sister company it is imperative that you both use the same year (and revision, probably) of QB desktop. You could restore a 2018 backup file into 2020 but they could not restore your 2020 backup into 2018.

That being said, each license of QBDT allows for an additional install for the licensed user when the two computers are essentially not used at the same time (although it would be difficult for them to check,) so in essence you might be able to install 2018 under the sister license although I would suggest they upgrade to 2021 this fall as it becomes widely distributed (it is out now to limited annual subscribers)

In a worst case situation the sister company could install their second application on a new laptop and then ship that to you

even though you might be able to buy the download anywhere when it comes time to activate, even with a US address the activation through a non supported country internet would fail

So might regular software updates

One more thought. You would still need an install of same version as the sister company, but if tge company file were hosted, using multi user access you could directly access the company file without having to rely on backups back and forth

Keep in mind, you can only convert and open the file of QB Desktop 2018 on QBD 2021. Once it is converted, your sister company are unable to open it any longer. You may have 2 options:

1. Purchase the same QBD version as your sister company has. i.e QBD 2018

2. Both of your companies are using the same QB Desktop 2021. If your total users are not more than 5 users, you may purchase QBD 2021 for 5 users and share the license.

You may purchase the license thru a reseller/partner to get a lower price. e.g you may purchase QBD 2021 Premier for 1 user worth $600 thru one of them.

QuickBooks Desktop is available locally in UAE too. We have been providing licenses and assisting customers with registrations for over a decade now and the software works just fine... :)
