Join nowOur company has a new Quickbooks started this year. It seems like maybe something wasn’t done right in set up, I’m not sure. When entering a bill, there’s an error that says an account must be chosen. After researching, it seems there should be an account detail field that is populated on the bill entry page. We don’t have that. What is the problem and how do we fix it?

Usually, missing accounts from the Category field is often the result of browser hang-ups, which can be quickly resolved by clearing the browser's cache. But before doing so, let's try to access your account using the incognito or private browser. This mode helps verify if the issue is caused by the system or your browser.

Then, go to + New > Bill and try to select a category. If you see the imported accounts, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Please make sure restart your browser afterwards. Alternatively, try using a different supported browser.

When creating a bill, you have an option to either record the expense using an account or an item. You'll want to select an expense account under the CATEGORY column. You can select the drop-down arrow to help you identify what kind of expense you're creating. Then, you can Save and close.

Hi, thank you for your response. The problem I’m facing is when I click for the drop down in the category, there’s nothing there. The chart of accounts has been imported...is there an error somewhere? Or is there something else I need to do?
thank you!
