.QBA and QBY files

if you create a QBY file for your client, can you open up your QBA  file to make additional changes?  I can't seem to get into my QBA file.  Is it "locked" or something?

.QBA and QBY files

Thanks for posting again in the Community, @mbatson13.

It's possible that your .QBA file was restricted which is why you're unable to make additional changes. If that's the case, you can ask your client to remove the Accountant's Copy restriction on QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). This means that they're are voiding the initial Accountant's Copy that was created.

You can share this article with your client for further guidance on how: Remove the accountant's copy restriction.

Just in case, I'll also add this article for future reference: Use the Accountant's Copy.

Please let me know in the comment section below if you have any other issues or concerns, and I'll get back to you right away. I'm always here to help. Have a wonderful rest of the day!
