Quickbooks 2016 Crashing

QB Premier 2016 crashes every now and then. In an enviroment with 10 users QB is running on a Windows Server 2016 which is not a DNS server. The errors on the Event Viewer are:

-The description for Event ID 1 from source SQLANY 16.0 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

-An unexpected error has occured in "QuickBooks: Premier Accountant Edition 2016":
CheckForProtocolEnforcement - ProtocolEnforcementState::getInstance() Validate validation flags returned True

-An unexpected error has occured in "QuickBooks: Premier Accountant Edition 2016":
RegistryHelper::ReadValueFromRegistry Error occured while reading from registry key with path SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings and key SecureProtocols. Error Code = 2. Windows Error Code:0. Reason: The operation completed successfully.
-
An unexpected error has occured in "QuickBooks: Premier Accountant Edition 2016":
Exception opening/reading company file during Syb 16 engine on Syb 17 company file check

I have installed all latest updates. QB can be working fine for a whole week and then it will just randomly crash.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Quickbooks 2016 Crashing

Hello there, Plankton82.

The service for QuickBooks Desktop 2016 has been discontinued on June 1, 2019. You'll want to upgrade to the latest version of the software. You can refer to this article about QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.

Although, we can perform troubleshooting steps to help resolve it from crashing. Let's try to open a sample company file. If you can access it without any errors, it could be that your company file is damaged. Check this article to fix it: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

If the same thing happens:

  1. Right-click on the QuickBooks icon and choose Properties. Then, click the Compatibility tab.
  2. Make sure the Run this program in compatibility mode for box is unchecked. Click OK.
  3. Right-click again on the QuickBooks icon and go to the Properties.
  4. From the Find Target, right-click on the QBW32.EXE and choose Properties.
  5. Click the Compatibility tab. Clear the checkbox Run this program in compatibility mode for and click OK.

Once done, open again your company file. For other concerns, I'm always here to help. Just let me know by leaving a reply.
