Quickbooks does not recognize mapped drive


Often when starting quickbooks it does not recognize my mapped drive, even though it is active and accessible by windows explorer. This also happens when I try to repair a file and the mapped drive does not appear in the search window. The problem is only solved when I restart my computer. This occurs with several company computers.


When researching about I found the topic of the link below, but the only method that fits is number one. In this case my computers were already active.

Quickbooks does not recognize mapped drive

Issues with mapping network drive in QuickBooks Desktop can be resolved by using the QuickBooks File Doctor tool. This helps recover common damage within the company files and help solve some of your network issues.


To do that:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version ( of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop).
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

If the problem continues, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Care Support. This needs a thorough investigation to identify the reason why Quickbooks does not recognize the mapped drive.

  1. Click Help at the top menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. In the Have a Question? window, enter a topic.

  4. Hit the Stat Messaging button.
