Reset admin password box keeps popping up in a new company

I created a new company in Quickbooks yesterday. Today, I tried logging in, but when I choose the new company, QB wants me to reset the Admin password. I do not want to do that because I'm not the only administrator. Am I supposed to have a separate Admin password for every company or can I enter the current Admin password in the password reset box? Will that work?

Re: Reset admin password box keeps popping up in a new company

I'm glad you came here for support, Tiv.

In QuickBooks Desktop, you'll need to setup an Admin password for each of your company file. The good thing is, you can use the current Admin password so you don't have to create a different one.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop. At the login window, click the I forgot my password link.
  2. Fill out the information on the form.
  3. QuickBooks will then guide you through creating a new admin password.
  4. Select OK. If the info you entered is correct, you’ll be emailed a code you'll need to enter in QuickBooks at your registered email address (this is your “primary email” listed in CAMPS).
  5. QuickBooks will then guide you through creating a new admin password.

Feel free to read through this thread to know more about resetting admin password in QuickBooks Desktop.
