Lately I am having issues with one of my employees computers and using Sage Payment Terminal. It has only been happening with this specific computer. We have 11 other computers that do not experience this issue. When Payment Terminal has been not used for 10-15 minutes and you go to type in the sale number to pull up the customer information in Sage Payment Terminal, it freezes Quickbooks and the Payment Terminal. I have tried to run the QB diagnostics and also reinstall Sage Payment Terminal without success. Any other suggestions?
Hello, Mjl1030.
Good work on doing the initial troubleshooting steps for both Sage and QuickBooks. I'll take it from here and help you resolve the crashing issue between the two programs.
A damaged Windows component is the most common culprit for program crashes (goes both ways for the Sage terminal and QuickBooks). You can check these articles for the complete steps:
Aside from these solutions, you can also do other steps from these articles:
Also, it's a good idea to take a look at the Sage Payment terminal as well. You'll want to contact Sage's support channel and see what other available options you have for the troubleshooting steps.
After resolving the issue, feel free to check out our articles for QuickBooks Enterprise. They can help you pull up your sales reports, manage customer data and more.
Do you have more questions about QuickBooks Enterprise or handling your Sage transactions in the program? I'd be more than happy to show you around.
So I have tried these without success. One thing we noticed today is that using a different computer, we could search the name and it would come up. This specific computer we are having issues with if you search the name, it does not appear (even after doing the refresh). We can type the sales number in and that is when it freezes. Any idea on this?
Thank you for getting back to this thread, @Mjl1030.
Since all of the basic troubleshooting steps that were shared above don't fix the issue, I'd recommend contacting a computer repair technician.
The error might come from the computer itself. This way, they can check your software or hardware for possible system damages.
I'm also including our Help articles for related references in managing your account and transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
Please let me know if you have any other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be more than happy to assist you. Have a good day and keep safe.
