Scheduling Local backup Windows 10

Greetings, nht48823.

You can create a schedule back and let QuickBooks automatically do it for you.

To start, make sure that QuickBooks select Switch to Single-user mode. Once done, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the File menu at the top, pick Back up Company, and choose to Create Local Backup
  2. In the window, select Local Backup and then Next.
  3. In the Local Backup Only section, select Browse and select where you want to save your backup company file.
  4. Set the number of backups you want to keep. This is optional.
  5. In the Online and Local Backup section, select Complete verification. This runs a test to make sure your backup file is in good shape before you save. When you're ready, select OK.
  6. Pick Save it now and schedule future backups and then Next. Or if you don't want to save a backup now, select Only schedule future backups.
  7. Choose the Save backup copy automatically when I close my company file checkbox. Then select the number of times between backups.
  8. Select New to create a schedule. Fill out the data fields to create a backup schedule. You can set a specific time or day of the week.
  9. After you set your schedule, select OK. QuickBooks asks you to enter your Windows sign-in password. This gives QuickBooks permission to run the scheduled backup. Then, hit Finish.

Scheduling Local backup Windows 10

Hello, nht48823.

I appreciate the screenshot you've provided. Allow me to help and route you to the right support.

I've checked and verified that we have reported issues with other users being unable to create a scheduled backup. We've already submitted a ticket about this issue and our engineers are all hands on deck working together for an immediate fix to sort everything out.

While they do, I'd suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Desktop Support. This way our engineers can add your account information to the list of affected users and attach your case to the INV-24197. Any progress will be communicated via email.

In case you want to learn more about creating a backup and renaming your company file, check out these articles:

Please extend your patience while we're working for the permanent fix. Don't hesitate to drop me a line if you have other QuickBooks concerns. Have a good one.

Scheduling Local backup Windows 10

Hi there, trho2010.

According to our records, the status of the investigation is still open.

For now, we do not have an estimated time frame when the issue will be resolved. In the mean time, you can continue manually making your daily backups or use Intuit Data Protect to backs up your files and folders automatically once a day. Here's article about this feature: Make a backup with Intuit Data Protect.

We'll also revisit this thread to post an update as soon it becomes available. Let me know if you need anything else.
